Yoga Therapy

About Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy is a holistic, evidence-informed approach to healing that supports individuals experiencing a wide range of health conditions, including anxiety, depression, grief, chronic pain, insomnia, chronic fatigue, trauma, fibromyalgia, and challenges with functional movement post-injury.
This personalized modality empowers individuals with practical tools, self-awareness, and knowledge to support their healing journey—helping them reconnect with their bodies, their breath, and their sense of self.

Many discover yoga therapy after they’ve tried other treatments without results. Yoga Therapy is complementary to other treatment like physiotherapy, chiropractor, psychotherapy/counselling, and massage therapy.  Yoga Therapy looks at the person as whole instead of flawed or broken, meeting the individual where they are, to support their personal health challenge and goals.

Sessions include a detailed intake form to gain your personal history, a postural and functional movement assessment to see where there may be opportunity for stretch and strength, and exploration of yoga practices based on your health challenges and needs.

At follow up sessions, the student and yoga therapist work together to explore practices that support their personal path towards healing. Practices can include movement and asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), somatics (gentle movement with breath), mantra (positive affirmation), mudras (energetic healing) meditation, visualization and sound.

Initials session: 90-minutes including intake review, postural and functional movement assessment and practices..

3-pack: 90-minute initial session + 2 x 60-minute sessions, which include a plan to follow at home working towards your goals.

Sessions can be held in person, or via zoom. Recordings of key practices are provided with handouts and a plan to follow.
