My name is Kerri Sumner and I am an experienced 550hr certified yoga teacher, working with students of all levels since 2012. I am a Certified Trauma-Sensitive Yoga teacher, a certified Pain Care Yoga teacher, a Pre and Postnatal Specialist, training in Therapeutic yoga.
My background is in corporate marketing, where I spent over 15 years of my career. I was introduced to yoga in 2006 and quickly began to experience the benefits of yoga including reduced chronic back pain. The more yoga that I practiced, the less pain I experienced and I began to regain mobility and build strength. Over time, my frequent chiropractor visits were no longer required to manage my pain. The balance that yoga brings to my life is what keeps me coming back to my mat, and why I am so passionate about sharing yoga with others.
Yoga and Somatic Therapy has supported me through personal loss, as well as trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after the birth of my son at 29 weeks.
My teaching style is focused on simple clear language, accessibility and inclusion for all levels and abilities. I believe that yoga is for everyone, and the tools that yoga provides support overall wellness, mind, body and heart.
I offer specialized yoga classes and programs to support healing for individuals who are working through trauma and PTDS, and for people experiencing chronic pain.
